Sharon Osbourne has revealed the heartbreaking final moments she shared with her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, including a tender request from the legendary rocker just hours before his death that would forever change the meaning of their last night together.

The 74-year-old television personality opened up about losing the love of her life during an emotional BBC interview published October 26, offering an intimate glimpse into the final hours of the Black Sabbath frontman’s life and the overwhelming grief she continues to experience more than a year later.

Ozzy, who died at age 76 on July 22, 2025, had spent years battling serious health problems. But despite his declining condition, Sharon said their last private conversation was filled with affection rather than fear.

During the night, Ozzy woke up and asked his wife to kiss him twice. She obliged, unaware that the simple gesture would become one of her final memories of the man she had loved for decades.

He then made another tender request.

“Hold me, hold me tight,” Ozzy told her.

Sharon wrapped her arms around her husband, never imagining how quickly their lives were about to change.

By the following morning, tragedy had struck. Ozzy had gotten out of bed early and gone downstairs for his usual exercise when he suffered a heart attack. Emergency responders were called to the couple’s Buckinghamshire estate in England, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful.

Sharon, who had been sleeping, recalled someone suddenly rushing into the bedroom and urgently telling her to come downstairs. She immediately ran to her husband, only to discover that the unthinkable had happened.

“I ran down, and that was it,” she recalled.

His death certificate later identified cardiac arrest and an acute myocardial infarction as causes of death, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction also listed as contributing conditions.

The tragedy came just 17 days after Ozzy fulfilled one of his greatest remaining wishes: performing one final concert in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

On July 5, 2025, the heavy metal pioneer reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates for the star-studded Back to the Beginning farewell concert at Villa Park. Although his physical condition required him to perform seated on a throne, the evening became an extraordinary celebration of his decades-long career.

Sharon has since revealed that doctors had warned against the performance because of his weakened heart. His family feared the physical demands could be too much, but Ozzy was determined to give his fans one last show.

According to Sharon, the concert transformed his spirits. After years of painful medical setbacks, including spinal problems, Parkinson’s disease and repeated hospitalizations, being back onstage gave him a renewed sense of purpose.

For the final 17 days of his life, Ozzy remained delighted by the experience and the overwhelming affection he received from fans and fellow musicians.

Now, Sharon is trying to navigate a future without the man who had been her husband for 43 years.

Following a public funeral procession through Birmingham that drew thousands of mourners, Ozzy was laid to rest in a private burial at the family’s Buckinghamshire estate. Sharon explained that she deliberately avoided a public cemetery because she wanted her husband to have a peaceful final resting place, away from the constant attention that followed him throughout his career.

The decision has also given her the opportunity to remain close to him. She revealed that she visits his grave every day, can see his resting place from her window and still talks to him privately.

But having him nearby has not made the emotional pain disappear.

“You never get over it,” Sharon acknowledged, explaining that she is gradually learning to live with the loss rather than expecting herself to recover completely.

The couple’s children have also spoken about their enduring grief. In September, daughter Kelly Osbourne revealed that her father had sat her down for an emotional conversation just three days before his death, reassuring her that she could go through life knowing there was one man who loved her completely and unconditionally.

Kelly recalled being brought to tears by the conversation, particularly because her father’s words sounded unusually final. Three days later, he was gone.

In a separate Father’s Day tribute in June 2026, Kelly admitted that she still catches herself wanting to share everyday moments with him, whether asking for advice, telling him a joke or celebrating something wonderful in her life.

For Sharon, the memories are equally powerful. Her marriage to Ozzy survived decades of extraordinary fame, personal struggles and public controversy, but the couple remained deeply connected until the end.

And while millions of fans will remember Ozzy as the outrageous Prince of Darkness who helped change rock music forever, Sharon is holding on to a far quieter memory of her husband: a man who woke in the middle of the night, asked his wife for two kisses and simply wanted to be held close.
