Gadi Eisenkot, leader of Israel’s opposition Yashar party, accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government on Sunday of “evading responsibility” and failing to learn the lessons of the 7 October 2023 events, following an incident involving a Flydubai flight.
In a post on X, Eisenkot said: “Netanyahu’s government has learned absolutely nothing from 7 October.”
He added: “Those who refuse an investigation and evade responsibility out of fear cannot prevent the next disaster.”

“In a worthy and functioning government, the transport minister would have submitted her resignation last night. Since she did not, the prime minister should have dismissed her immediately,” he said.
Addressing Israelis, Eisenkot pledged to bring responsible and capable leadership to Israel within a month.
Eisenkot ended his statement by urging Israelis to vote in the Knesset election scheduled for 27 October, as the election campaign intensifies ahead of the vote.
