Dave Coulier is opening up about the heartbreaking toll his cancer battle has taken on his body — and fans are stunned by his dramatic transformation.

The beloved Full House star, best known as goofy Uncle Joey, revealed he has lost a shocking 45 pounds after undergoing intense radiation treatment for throat cancer, leaving him unable to eat solid food for months.

In an emotional video shared to Instagram, the 65-year-old actor addressed worried fans who noticed he looked and sounded very different in recent appearances.

“I do look differently, and I sound differently,” Coulier admitted. “What you’re seeing is the side effects of the extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat.”

The actor explained that the brutal treatments severely damaged his ability to eat and even affected his speech.

“I haven’t been able to eat solid food in months,” he revealed. “So I’ve lost 45 pounds. That’s what you’re seeing.”

Coulier also reminded fans that this wasn’t his first terrifying health battle. About a year and a half ago, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and underwent chemotherapy.

“My hair is kind of growing back,” he joked while updating followers on his recovery.

Despite the painful ordeal, Coulier shared some encouraging news that gave fans hope.

“We got our PET scans back, and the prognosis looks good for both the carcinoma in my throat and the lymphoma,” he said.

The sitcom legend said he’s been trying to stay positive by focusing on creative projects while recovering. Coulier revealed he’s been making artwork, writing creatively, and working on his wellness business alongside wife Melissa Bring, whom he married in 2014.

Fans and friends flooded the comments section with emotional support after his update.

Kelly Rizzo, widow of late Full House patriarch Bob Saget, wrote, “You are so very loved, Dave. And truly, no one is stronger than you.”

Actress Debra Sunland also praised Coulier for remaining upbeat through the nightmare health crisis, calling him “a gift of a human.”

Coulier became a household name playing Joey Gladstone on Full House from 1987 to 1995 alongside Bob Saget, John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and the Olsen twins. The cast famously remained close over the decades and reunited for the Netflix reboot Fuller House.

Fans were devastated when Coulier first revealed his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis in late 2024. Then, in 2025, he announced doctors had also discovered carcinoma in his throat — delivering another crushing blow.

Now, after months of painful treatment, Coulier says he’s finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

And while his appearance may have changed dramatically, the comedian’s trademark optimism is still shining through.
