Two US military aircraft have operated near Iranian airspace after taking off from bases in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, according to flight tracking data cited by Russian outlet Novosti.

The report said a US Navy P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft departed from Bahrain and flew over the Strait of Hormuz, marking its second such mission in recent days. At the same time, an MQ-4C Triton surveillance drone, manufactured by Northrop Grumman, reportedly took off from Abu Dhabi and operated over the Gulf of Oman.

Flight paths showed the Poseidon circling above the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically vital waterway, while the drone conducted surveillance flights near the Iranian border.

The developments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran. In late January, US President Donald Trump announced the deployment of a stronger naval presence near Iran than that previously stationed off the coast of Venezuela.

There was no immediate official comment from US or Iranian authorities regarding the latest flights.
