Roseanne Barr is setting off alarm bells — and not just on stage.
The controversial comic, 73, is facing mounting concern after openly admitting she’s refusing medical advice about what doctors allegedly described as a “damaged” heart. And her reasoning? She fears going under the knife could kill her.
Speaking candidly on her podcast, Barr revealed she’s pushing back against doctors urging further testing — and possibly surgery — instead choosing to seek another opinion while questioning the entire process.
“This doctor says I have to go get my heart checked out because it’s damaged,” she said, clearly frustrated. “I’m like, why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing’s wrong and then get in shape just so I can have surgery and die on the surgery table?”
Instead of preparing for a procedure, Barr made a shocking admission about her mindset.
“I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again… and just get a heart attack or a stroke,” she said, even referencing hospice care as an outcome she’d accept.
The blunt comments have reportedly left people close to her deeply uneasy.
“There is genuine concern she’s dismissing serious medical guidance,” one insider said. “Delaying treatment could be far riskier than the procedure itself.”
Another source added that Barr’s fear of surgery may be clouding her judgment at a critical moment for her health.
“People around her are worried this anxiety is leading to decisions with long-term consequences,” the insider said.
And it’s not just her refusal of medical advice that has observers on edge.
Barr has also been living an intense, physically demanding lifestyle on her Texas property — one that has already led to multiple scary incidents.
She previously revealed she was struck in the head by falling tree branches while operating heavy machinery on her land, describing one terrifying moment where she became trapped inside her tractor.
“I’m always hitting a tree and knocking it over, and it always hits me in the head,” she said. “One big branch fell right on my head and trapped me.”
Despite the close calls, Barr insists she powered through using sheer will — and faith.
“I said my prayers… and just flipped it,” she recalled.
Still, insiders say her relentless, high-risk lifestyle is only adding to the concern — especially as she avoids preventative care.
“There’s a sense she’s prioritizing independence and toughness,” a source said. “But it may be coming at the expense of her health.”
Barr has also ruled out any plans to slow down or relocate, even joking she’d rather “burn in hell” than deal with Florida’s heat.
For now, the outspoken star appears determined to do things her way — even as fears grow that time may not be on her side.
