The Red Ribbon Campaign has today issued an urgent statement calling on the free people of the world to join their planned activities on 16, 17, and 18 April 2026 against Isreal’s plans to execute scores of Palestinian detainees.

The statement said, “We will turn every square, every street, and every digital platform into a space demanding their right to live.”

It continued: “In the darkness of prison cells, among the worst on earth, Palestinian detainees are no longer facing imprisonment and abuse alone; they are confronting a clear and systematic plan of execution. Through the “Red Ribbons” campaign, we declare to the world that the occupation has completed the pillars of its crime. Execution is no longer a passing statement; it has become a reality legitimised by the Knesset and endorsed by judges. Even more alarming, reality has revealed the willingness of “doctors” to participate in carrying out these killings, in a precedent that tramples over all international ethical and medical conventions.”

There are among the detainees: children robbed of their innocence, women, doctors, and patients battling both illness and their jailers. Latest statistics from March 2026 reveal that there are:

  • 9,446 hostages in prisons of death.
  • 3,442 administrative detainees held without charge or trial.
  • 350 children and 79 women facing an unknown fate behind bars.
  • 1,249 people from Gaza subjected to enforced disappearance under the label of “unlawful combatants.”
  • 88 martyrs have died in prisons since October 2023, bringing the total number of prisoner movement martyrs to 325, while the occupation still withholds the bodies of 766 detainees.

The statement also called on supporters to raise photos of the detainees: “Let the faces of detained hostages haunt the global conscience everywhere”; hang red ribbons in visible places alongside their images, the colour red symbolises their precious blood and their right to life; and organise vigils, write, and speak out against Israeli injustice.

Adnan Hmidan, the Campaign Coordinator said: “The 16th, 17th, and 18th of April are days to break the wall of global silence. Every red ribbon you hang is a cry in the face of the executioner that our prisoners are not alone, and we will not allow the occupation to assassinate them in the darkness of cells.”

Additionally, prominent Palestinian official and member of the campaign Dr Mustafa Barghouti said: “What we are witnessing today is the final moral collapse of the occupation system. When the judiciary legalises killing and doctors volunteer to carry out executions, we are facing a fully-fledged war crime committed in cold blood against thousands of Palestinian hostages. It is the silence of the international community that has given the green light to this brutality. We are not only demanding freedom, we are calling on the world to stop the execution guillotine erected by a false ‘democracy’ to kill the finest of our people.”
