A British reality TV name just turned into a sudden death mystery abroad.
Jordan Wright, 33 — known for The Only Way Is Essex and Ex On The Beach — was found dead in a drainage canal in Thailand, according to reports citing local police.
The discovery was grim.
Wright was reportedly found face down in stagnant water near Bang Tao Beach in Phuket on Saturday, March 14, around 12:30 p.m. local time. Investigators believe he had been dead for no more than two days.
What makes it even more unsettling: he was barefoot.
Authorities reportedly said Wright was wearing a gray T-shirt and black pants when he was found. Not far away, police allegedly found his hotel key card — and his brand-new iPhone 17 sitting on the bank like it had been left behind in a hurry.
The hotel detail is where the story gets darker.
Police say staff at COCO Phuket Bangtao had been trying to reach Wright because he never checked out on March 13, as planned. When they went looking, investigators reportedly found no signs of forced entry or anything obviously disturbed inside his room.
But there was surveillance footage.
According to police statements shared in reports, CCTV showed Wright acting “restless,” pacing and moving back and forth outside the hotel before leaving the area — and those movements allegedly traced a path toward the location where his body was later found.
Right now, authorities say they’re still waiting on autopsy results from Vachira Phuket Hospital, including whether drugs were in his system. Police have not released an official cause of death, and the case remains under investigation.
Wright’s death is especially jarring because he’d only recently started over in Thailand.
He rose to fame on Ex On The Beach in 2017 and later appeared on TOWIE in 2018, before stepping away from reality TV and returning to work as a firefighter. More recently, he listed himself as a financial investor and had moved to Thailand to begin what looked like a fresh chapter.
Just months ago, Wright posted from Phuket and hinted at big plans ahead. In his last posts, he referred to Thailand as “home.”
Now, that “new life” ends with a body in a ditch — and a growing list of unanswered questions.
