In a move poised to reshape its U.S. footprint, Ferrero has announced the launch of Nutella Peanut—marking the first flavor innovation in Nutella’s 60-year history.
Set to debut in spring 2026, the new offering blends Nutella’s signature cocoa-hazelnut cream with the taste of roasted peanuts, aiming to drive market expansion in North America.
“This represents a defining moment for Ferrero,” said Michael Lindsey, President and Chief Business Officer of Ferrero North America. “Our momentum here has never been stronger.”
The product, developed over five years, will be manufactured at Ferrero’s Franklin Park, Illinois facility, following a $75 million investment that is expected to generate dozens of new jobs. Notably, the brand emphasized that Nutella Peanut is not a peanut butter substitute—it retains the classic hazelnut and chocolate flavor profile.
“There’s a reason cocoa remains part of the formula,” said Seth Gonzalez, Senior Marketing Director for Nutella.
The announcement comes alongside the introduction of Ferrero Rocher chocolate squares—available this September in five varieties including Caramel Hazelnut and Dark Hazelnut.
If Nutella Peanut gains traction, Ferrero signaled the possibility of additional peanut-based innovations down the line, contingent on consumer response.
