Greece has recently been building a name for luxury holidays, away from the traditional, low-cost sea-and-sun pattern of last century, offering greater value for money than its regional rivals.
A recent survey by Kinglike Concierge is showing that Greece is now the best-priced destination for five-star accommodation in Europe, with a week’s luxury holiday costing $200 less than its nearest rival in 2025.

Besides the unique natural landscapes, the outstanding food and drink, the unparalleled culture and the super-rich history that its museums and monuments are testament to, visitors seeking a luxury experience will not find it any cheaper anywhere in Europe than in Greece, according to the survey by the Limassol-based travel design company.
Kinglike Concierge has performed a study to find the cheapest destinations among 20 of the most popular countries in Europe where American travelers can get the most luxury for their money, based on four metrics (cheapest price of five-star accommodation, cheapest business class return flight, average price of a spa treatment and average price of a Michelin-starred meal). It then added the prices up to see which country came out on top for the cheapest luxury holiday.
The result was that Greece came in first as the cheapest luxury country, followed by Spain in second and Germany in third, by some distance. A luxury week in Greece can be found for a little as $1,329, the survey showed, against $1,529 in Spain and $1,638 in Germany. This means Greece is 13.1% cheaper than its nearest rival.
At the other end, Malta was the most expensive country ($4,296) for a weekly five-star holiday during the Kinglike Concierge analysis period, with Ireland not far behind ($3,777).
On the otherhand, for food lovers, indulging in Michelin-starred dining is a key part of a luxury vacation. The most affordable countries for Michelin dining are:
- Malta ($133 per person)
- Greece ($140 per person)
- Slovenia & Belgium ($144 per person)
Despite being the most expensive destination overall, Malta surprisingly offers the most affordable Michelin-starred dining experiences. Greece follows closely, proving once again that it is a top destination for budget-conscious luxury travelers.
