At least one person killed in firing incident at UN compound in Kabul

At least one person was killed in Afghanistan’s capital city of Kabul in a firing incident outside a United Nations compound, officials said on Monday.

The incident involved guards belonging to the Taliban group, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said in a statement. An investigation into the firing is underway, the statement added.

One person has been injured in the firing, UNAMA said.

The reason behind the firing was not immediately clear.
