A California love triangle that ended in a deadly bedroom confrontation has taken another disturbing turn after authorities revealed that a 28-year-old man allegedly stabbed by his lover’s husband died from massive blood loss.

Nicholas Garcia suffered multiple stab wounds during the October 24 confrontation inside an Anaheim home, where prosecutors say 34-year-old Ismael Pinedalopez returned from work early and discovered Garcia in bed with his wife and their two young children.

According to a death verification report filed October 30 and obtained by The California Post, Garcia’s official cause of death was listed as “acute exsanguination,” the medical term for severe blood loss. His manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The new findings shed additional light on a killing that has shocked the Southern California community, particularly because the couple’s 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son were present during the violence.

Investigators say Pinedalopez unexpectedly arrived home from his overnight shift and found Garcia wearing only his underwear in the bedroom he shared with his wife, Wendy Clemente.

What followed was a deadly confrontation.

Prosecutors allege that Pinedalopez pulled out a pocketknife and repeatedly stabbed Garcia. Anaheim police responding to the residence in the 700 block of North Pine Street discovered Garcia’s body in the bedroom and found Pinedalopez with blood on him.

Clemente and the couple’s two children were physically unharmed.

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer condemned the alleged attack, emphasizing the devastating circumstances surrounding the children’s presence.

“Violence is never the answer,” Spitzer said, describing it as heartbreaking that the young children witnessed such an act in their own home. Orange County District Attorney+1

Pinedalopez was arrested and charged with one felony count of murder, along with a sentencing enhancement alleging that he personally used a deadly weapon.

Surveillance footage obtained from a neighboring property reportedly captured police escorting the handcuffed suspect to a patrol vehicle shortly after the killing.

Days later, Clemente was photographed shopping with her children at a Walmart store. When approached for comment about the tragedy, she declined to discuss what happened.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” she said.

Her 20-year-old brother, Elvis Clemente, also refused to elaborate, explaining that the family was struggling with the aftermath of the killing.

Neighbors, meanwhile, expressed disbelief over the allegations against Pinedalopez, whom some described as a devoted father.

Elizabeth Polanco, 71, said the couple maintained different work schedules, with Pinedalopez working nights while Clemente worked during the day.

Polanco recalled frequently seeing him spending time with his children and described him as a friendly, easygoing neighbor.

“He was a very good father,” she said. “He was always walking in the street with the boy and the girl.”

She also said she had never noticed Garcia visiting the family’s residence before the fatal encounter.

According to local accounts, the confrontation occurred around 4:15 a.m., although investigators have not publicly detailed every moment leading up to the stabbing.

The case has drawn particular attention because of the children’s presence during the alleged attack. Authorities have not disclosed whether either child received counseling or other support afterward.

Garcia, a resident of Whittier, was pronounced dead at the scene. Although authorities have classified his death as a homicide, the final coroner’s report had not been released as of the latest reporting.

Pinedalopez remains charged with murder and faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison if convicted on all counts.

Court records indicate that he waived an earlier arraignment opportunity and is now scheduled to appear in court December 1 for arraignment and a bail review.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case, while investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal confrontation.

For now, the allegations paint a devastating picture of a domestic dispute that escalated into deadly violence, leaving one man dead, another facing decades behind bars and two very young children at the center of a tragedy that has shattered multiple families.
