A 9-year-old Palestinian girl was killed after being shot by Israeli forces while attending class in a tent set up for education at Abu Ubayda bin Jarrah School in northern Gaza, Anadolu reports.

The child, identified as Ritac Abdurrauf Reyhan, was taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in critical condition but later died despite medical efforts.

The incident occurred inside a temporary classroom tent with reports of panic among those present at the time of the shooting.

More than 72,000 people have been killed and over 171,000 others injured in Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 2023.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was reached on Oct. 10, based on a 20-point peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 733 Palestinians have been killed and 2,034 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire.
